Life - I would love for my husband and I to go to this Journey to Us marriage retreat. We have been married for 37 years but it has been an incredibly tough grind. Many times I have wondered if I can stay any longer but earlier this year I was at a major cross roads of staying or leaving but stayed because I want it to work so badly. My husband has begun to step up since then but we desperately need some tools to help us. He's not open to going and seeing a counsellor but this sort of scenario would be perfect as it's us working together. Please, please, please may we be considered for this weekend. 🙏🏻

Life During the covid lock downs, I was so bored I taught myself how to video edit and started a gaming YouTube channel. One of the 3 videos I first uploaded ended up getting 120k views in a week! Ended up becoming a YouTube partner and now get paid every now and again. I now have around 3.5k subscribers! God is good!

Good morning,
My wife and I have been long-time supporters of Focus on the Family, and your ministry has had a meaningful impact on our lives over the years. Back when we lived in South Africa, we had the privilege of attending several of your events—those memories still stay with us.
Three years ago, we immigrated to New Zealand with our two young daughters. It has been a challenging journey—starting over in a new country, far from family and familiar support systems. As we’ve tried to build a new life here, our focus has naturally been on our children. They receive most of our time, attention, and affection as we work to give them a sense of security and belonging in this new environment.
But in the midst of pouring ourselves into our kids, we’ve found that our marriage has quietly taken a back seat. We’re still committed to each other and to God, but we’ve come to realize how much we long to reconnect—not just with each other, but with the vision God has for our marriage.
A marriage-focused, God-centered retreat would truly be a gift—manna from heaven in this season of our lives.

Our son came running to me this morning and said " mum you need to listen to lifefm. Because they have got this cool thing for married couples and you and dad should enter. You deserve it. So we got thinking and agreed, and so here is our entry.
We are Elliot and Jo Marshall. We are absolutely committed to making our marriage work no matter what. But after 20 years married some fresh perspectives and time alone with space to reflect would be a gift, especially with some external pressures that are making life challenging and trying on our relationship at the moment. LIFE Hi there, I have been married for 15 years and for most of this time we have been struggling with issues that we seem unable to resolve or communicate about. We are pulling in different directions, caught in a tug of war, each yearning to have their needs met but the other not being willing or able to understand. I would like to attend Focus on the Family's Journey to Us retreat because I know that this is not God’s plan or purpose for marriage. My desire is to have a thriving, flourishing marriage where we can walk together as one, setting an example for our two boys, but at the moment this seems so out of reach and we need help to get there.

Entry for the marriage retreat.
The last 2 months have probably been the toughest in our marriage, hubby came clean with stuff from his past and it has been really hard to work through that, still is. This would be so good for us to re-connect and build a stronger relationship.
